Here is how we, as pretty cool teens, would recommend spending a day as a young person in Knutsford.
If the weather is nice (which it usually isn’t!), we would start the day off walking into the town centre and taking in the nature and architecture of our town. Although it might add a couple of minutes to your journey, we strongly suggest taking a detour through the Moor or Heath depending on which direction you are walking from. As you enter the centre, grab a coffee (or a matcha- if that’s what tickles your fancy)! Although there are dozens of amazing independent cafes, our favourite spots are Detaljer and April’s Kitchen, where you can find delicious treats, friendly faces, and simply brilliant drinks, all for under £5 (bargain if you ask us). If you prefer sitting in or enjoy taking a stroll to one of the many green spaces such as the Heath where there is a huge amount of open space to sit and relax in the sun.

Next, we may decide to take a look around some of the many clothing shops and boutiques on Princess Street (better known as top street) or King Street (bottom street). We love to visit the charity shops and do a bit of thrifting– as the Americans would say! There are options for everyone including crystals and jewellery at Kanoa Living on Princess Street or head next door to Blossom Boutique for a range of quirky and summery clothing. Don’t spend too much money, you’ll need to save some for-ice cream later on!
Once we have finished browsing the range of different shops, we’ll try some dinner. Knutsford has many different independent restaurants so you can try a variety of different cuisines including Spanish, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Mediterranean and more. Try our top picks – Eastern Revive (we would have to suggest the chicken tikka masala), Pastiche and Evuna – all located around top and bottom street.

If you’ve got any space left, head down to the Moor and visit the Real Fruit Creamery on the way. There is a huge amount of delicious ice cream flavours that are hand-crafted onsite with locally sourced ingredients where possible. We implore you to try the Jaffa Cake flavour. You can visit the duck pond and depending on the time of year, you might even see some ducklings plodding around.

Finally, to end the night and take advantage of the nature available in Knutsford, we can head towards Bexton primary school to watch the sunset in the nearby rapeseed fields, be careful if you have hayfever! Enter the fields on Bexton Road for the best view of the sun setting- it speaks for itself.
We hope that you have thoroughly enjoyed your day out guided by us. Be sure to tag @discoverknutsford if you decide to follow any of our recommendations! Love Aoife and Isobel!
