Crosstown Community Orchard will be toasting the new year with the ancient mid-winter custom of a Wassail!

The ceremony is traditionally performed in orchards to scare away evil spirits to ensure a good harvest for the year ahead and the Crosstown Community Orchard has held a Wassail each year since it was established in 2021.

The event is free, with donations accepted/encouraged to support the charity’s work in maintaining the orchard.

The Wassail includes traditional live dance, music and performance, toasting of a Wassail tree and plenty of mulled cider to keep warm!
