Keep your eyes peeled for a gallon of new songs\, all released online\, and a tanker-load of gigs at venues up-and-down the country and beyond. \nNow\, if you don’t know the band yet\, you’ll feel like you do once you see them live. Stephen “Bertie” Burton fronts the band\, and his killer voice and come-one-come-all stage presence hits every last person right between the eyes. Come see for yourself. He’s the real deal. \nIn the 80s\, Bertie fronted UK rock band Starfighters\, touring the USA with AC/DC on their Back in Black tour and Ozzy Osbourne on his Diary of a Madman tour. \nIn the 90s he fell in love with country music. The real kind. And it was then the Flatts was born. Fast forward 20 years and Bertie’s high-octane\, no-holds barred approach to life and living took its toll. \nAfter some much-needed time out\, he joined three other musicians (each nearly half his age) to reform his baby. Together\, they’ve become a force\, with critics likening their live performances to legends like Little Feat\, and modern acts like Blackberry Smoke and the Zac Brown Band. \nSince then\, the band has performed at venues and festivals across the UK\, Europe and Scandinavia. They’ve also recorded an EP\, an album and have a whole slew of new material set to be released throughout 2024. \nSo\, watch out. This year\, the band has gone wholesale. This event is expected to be a sell out so get your tickets early to avoid disappointment! \nKatherine fist performed at the festival in 2023 and after rave reviews she is back for 2025! \nFebruary 2024 saw the release of Katherine Priddy’s eagerly awaited second album: The Pendulum Swing. Greeted by critical acclaim in the press including MOJO who called it “simply brilliant”\, the album landed at #1 in the official UK Folk Charts. It saw the likes of Iggy Pop\, Guy Garvey\, Craig Charles\, Mark Radcliffe and Gideon Coe giving it a spin whilst RTE in Ireland added tracks to their recommendations list for 3 weeks running. \nWith her biggest headline tour to date selling out most cities and her reputation growing\, she was asked to perform on the legendary Later.. with Jools Holland (25th May) on BBC Two. She now returns for the final run of The Pendulum Swing Tour in March 2025. \nSince Richard Thompson chose Priddy as “The Best Thing I’ve Heard All Year” in Mojo Magazine on the strength of her 2018 “Wolf” EP\, her star has risen exponentially. Winning fans from Guy Garvey\, Mark Radcliffe\, Stuart Maconie and the late Janice Long and garnering glowing press reviews across the board for The Eternal Rocks Beneath. Her live performances are engaging\, moving and amusing by turn\, delivering original songs with emotional maturity\, depth and particularly noteworthy lyrics. Despite the delicate nuances of her sound\, Katherine Priddy is not a fragile wallflower\, but a determined young woman making her mark. \nwww.katherinepriddy.co.uk \nKatherine is joined for the evening by Mark Radcliffe and Dave Boardman. \nMark and David are singing\, song-writing\, strumming and swigging buddies from the badlands of the Cheshire Plain. They have played across the UK at various venues and festivals and have also performed in Spain and Portugal. \nRadcliffe\, once half of legendary radio double-act Mark and Lard\, has been on the national airwaves since the early nineties and currently hosts the Radio 2 Folk Show and weekend breakfast on 6Music with Stuart Maconie. He was the leader of folk-rock bands The Family Mahone and Galleon Blast and has also written five bestselling books about music. His next publication is ‘Et tu\, cavapoo – one man and his dog in Rome’ which he has co-authored with his canine companion Arlo. \nDavid Boardman is a consummate guitarist and guitar teacher who cut his teeth on the rock circuit with Darktown Jubilee touring not only the UK but also North America and Canada. A gifted visual artist\, Boardman met Radcliffe in their hometown of Knutsford where their writing partnership soon began to flourish. DESCRIPTION:The Music Train leaves Chester at 18:56 and reaches Knutsford station at 19:41.  People can join at Chester or at any station along the Mid Cheshire Line.  Or they can\, of course\, go straight to the Angel.  From the train we walk along King Street to the Angel. \nMusic will start about 20:00 and finish about 21:30.  There is no need to book – in fact\, it isn’t possible to book.  The pub has a good menu which is available on its website -https://www.joseph-holt.com/pubs/angel-king-st \nIt is probably best if people going direct order their food and drinks before about 19:45 when there will be an influx of customers who have come on the Music Train. \nThe Epicures are playing and singing on the Music Train from Chester and at the Angel on King Street in Knutsford.  The Epicures are Jim and Brian – a fresh musical duo with a fiddle and a guitar – playing a fusion of popular jazz\, swing and folk numbers. \n
