SUMMARY:TOUR | The Haunted Table
DESCRIPTION:Knutsford is serving up a new kind of fright! Knutsford Ghost Walks and Taste Knutsford have joined forces to launch the Haunted Table\, a unique “ghost and grub” walking tour. \nThis new experience combines a spooky stroll through Knutsford’s historic streets with delicious food and drink stops. The tour will feature three culinary highlights: Morgan Edwards Fine Wines and Spirits\, Evuna\, and the Rose and Crown. Not only are these venues known for their great food\, but they are also historic buildings with their own tales of the supernatural. \n“We are delighted to be working with Taste Knutsford\,” said George Williams\, who runs Knutsford Ghost Walks. “Our ghost walks are all about exploring the town’s narrow passages and hearing stories of ghostly sightings. To be able to combine this with fantastic food and drink is a great way to spend an evening. The three venues we chose are perfect—they offer superb food and also have some spooky stories of their own!” \nSandra Curties\, Knutsford’s Town Centre Manager\, added\, “Taste Knutsford has been incredibly popular since we launched it in 2018. We’ve loved what George has done with his ghost walks\, and bringing the two together was a natural next step. This tour is a great way for people to enjoy wonderful food and drink\, learn about Knutsford’s spooky history\, and maybe even have a ghostly experience of their own!” \nThe first Haunted Table tour is scheduled for Wednesday\, October 22nd\, at 6:00 PM. Tickets are £45.00 per person\, which includes food\, drink\, and the guided tour. The experience will last approximately three hours\, and tour groups are limited to just 12 people to ensure an intimate and memorable experience. \n  \nYou can book your spot on this unique tour by visiting www.tasteknutsford.co.uk. If the first tour is a success\, additional dates will be added.

SUMMARY:THEATRE | The Ghost Train
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to the mindless actions of Teddy Deakin\, a group of mismatched rail passengers find themselves stranded in a dark and isolated station\, having missed the last connection of the night.\nTales of superstition prevail as the local station master – unable to persuade them to leave – reveals that very night\, twenty years ago\, a train crashed leaving a number of passengers dead. Legend has it\, that the station is still haunted as the train relives its final moments as it roars through the station to its demise.\nThe passengers begin to panic as the body of the station master is found on the platform\, and a mysterious young lady arrives\, foretelling the oncoming of the Ghost Train… \nWritten by Arnold Ridley\, \nDirected by Paul Baston

SUMMARY:MUSIC | The John Hackett Band and Ms Amy Birks
DESCRIPTION:THE JOHN HACKETT BAND \nThe John Hackett Band embodies the spirit of progressive rock. From John’s pastoral flute textures\, through the funky interplay between drummer Duncan Parsons and bassist Jeremy Richardson to the intricacies of Nick Fletcher’s lead guitar the group embrace pop\, rock\, jazz\, classical\, funk and all stops in-between\, from the tenderest of ballads to hair-raising instrumental workouts! \nJohn Hackett has been a much-loved and admired figure in the progressive rock scene since the mid-70’s; best-known for his flute work with his brother\, former Genesis guitarist\, Steve Hackett on albums such as Voyage of The Acolyte\, Sketches of Satie and Please Don’t Touch alongside his own solo albums Checking Out Of London\, Another Life and The Piper Plays His Tune \n“Nick Fletcher is probably the best jazz rock guitarist in the country. His fluency is astounding\, plus he possesses a first-rate classical guitar technique to boot! I consider Nick Fletcher to be an absolute star” Steve Hackett \n“The band have never sounded better\, and they are musically as tight as a drum skin.” David Edwards\, The Progressive Aspect – March 2024 \nMS AMY BIRKS \nMs Amy Birks is an award-winning English singer\, songwriter\, and musician renowned for her evocative blend of chamber pop and progressive influences. She first gained prominence as the lead vocalist and lyricist for the Beatrix Players\, whose debut album\, Magnified\, was released in 2017. Following the group’s disbandment\, Birks embarked on a solo career\, releasing her debut album\, All That I Am & All That I Was\, in 2020. Her sophomore album\, In Our Souls\, released in 2022\, draws inspiration from literary figures like the Brontë sisters\, reflecting her deep appreciation for literature. After a hiatus following their 2017 debut\, Magnified\, Beatrix Players reformed with Birks at the helm with the critically acclaimed Living & Alive\, released on September 22\, 2023. Drawing comparisons to artists such as Kate Bush\, Fleetwood Mac and Jethro Tull\, Amy takes to the stage with two of her Beatrix Players’ bandmates\, John Hackett & Matthew Lumb\, to perform an intimate set from her back catalogue.

SUMMARY:Railway 200 - Baton Relay Walks along the Mid Cheshire Railway Line
DESCRIPTION:2025 is the year of Railway 200 celebrating the start of the railway system as we know it today “connecting places\, people and communities”. Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership is marking this milestone with a baton relay event over 6 days in September. \nThese station-to-station walks will closely follow the route of the Mid Cheshire Line. Starting at Manchester Piccadilly Station on Monday 22nd September and finishing 6 days later at Chester Station on Saturday 27th September. The route involves Knutsford. \nYou can join us for a short section\, a full day or all 6 days – you will be more than welcome. \nThe carefully planned walks are of varying lengths to suit different levels of ability. We will call at each station along the line handing over a knitted baton – made by community knitting group Toppers of Northwich – to the walking group tackling the next section. Along the way\, walkers will pass through the beautiful scenic countryside and fascinating historic towns. \nWe would welcome people from communities along the Mid Cheshire Line to join in for a short section\, a full day or the total walk. To view the proposed walking routes and for more details please visit the Railway 200 section of www.midcheshirerail.org.uk
