DESCRIPTION:Join us for some Japanese painting in a beginner friendly painting workshop at Tatton Park.\nTopic: Cherry Blossom. Join us for some Japanese painting in a beginner-friendly workshop at Tatton Park. Explore your creative side and discover new techniques with this fun\, hands-on experience. Learn from local artist and experienced teacher Ula Fung\, who’ll show you how to paint using traditional techniques and materials such as bamboo brushes\, sumi ink\, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美 (traditional Japanese colours)\, and gold leaf. You’ll paint seasonal subjects\, learning from a selection of references drawn from various Japanese art movements such as Ukiyo-e and the Rinpa School\, as well as many contemporary Japanese artists. We’ll also bring along a variety of materials to suit the theme of the day. This painting class is suitable for beginners as well as those with a little more artistic experience\, so don’t worry if it’s your first time. Ula will be on hand to provide guidance and answer any questions. Ula Fung is a local artist with over 15 years of teaching experience and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art and a Master’s in Visual Art. \n\nAt the end of your art class\, you’ll get the chance to stand back and admire your beautiful Japanese painting or you can share your experiences with the group. You’ll head home with your completed piece and a new skill that’s perfect to practice whenever you’re looking to clear your head. \n\n*Towards the end of the workshop there will be an opportunity for you to get your photo taken. We will use these photos for social media and promotional use. Please let us know if you’re not comfortable with this. \n\nKnowledge required: Beginner friendly – all levels welcome. \n\nMaterials (all provided): Sumi ink\, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美 (Traditional Japanese colours)\, gold leaves\, Mulberry Paper or board. \n\nWhat you’ll get: All of the equipment and materials needed for your class and protective equipment such as aprons. \n What to bring: Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a little paint on and a carrying bag for take your artworks home.

DESCRIPTION:As part of the Knutsford Photographic Society exhibition at Knutsford Heritage Centre\, join award-winning Tim Banks on a heritage photo walk. He will take you through the centre of Knutsford pointing out interesting buildings and places which would make great photographs.\nBut more importantly he will share tips and advice on how to take a great photo. As well as using cameras Tim is also incredibly proficient with his mobile phone\, having won competitions with mobile shots. \nYou can bring your camera or phone to use and he will answer questions and show you how to get the best out of your equipment or device. \nThere will be two sessions on Saturday May 16th\, depending on numbers. One in the morning at 11am and one in the afternoon at 2pm. \nThe cost is just £10 per person. Tickets for this event can be purchased at the Heritage Centre of online through Ticket Source. \nWe are also running a competition to produce a new postcard for the Heritage Centre.
